Scope
The global fuel standard and pricing mechanism for shipping, built on the GHG Fuel Intensity metric. Approved at MEPC 83 in April 2025. Adoption was adjourned for one year in October 2025 and the extraordinary session is expected to reconvene around October 2026, with entry into force roughly 16 months after adoption.
