3Y Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CRecTech on 23 June 2025 in Singapore to collaborate on the advancement and evaluation of bio-methanol as a low-carbon marine fuel.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Yichen Zong, CEO of 3Y Energy, and Dr. Kang Hui Lim, CEO of CRecTech. Both companies are alumni of PIER71 and the Shell Startup Engine, and the partnership reinforces their shared commitment to sustainable solutions for the maritime industry.
3Y Energy has developed a Bio-Fuel Testing Platform designed to assess the combustion performance and emissions of alternative fuels across multiple engine configurations. CRecTech has developed proprietary catalytic technology that converts biogas into bio-methanol in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Under the MOU, the two companies will jointly evaluate the combustion performance, emission characteristics, and analytical properties of bio-methanol fuel formulations — combining CRecTech's production technology with 3Y Energy's testing and evaluation capabilities.
